This Snapshot describes the positive impact Safe Schools/Healthy Students communities have made in youth substance use prevention.These communities’ stories illustrate how district wide partnerships can bring substance abuse prevention into focus, broaden the reach of media campaigns, lead to school and local policy changes, and result in the effective implementation of proven strategies to shift cultural norms and decrease substance initiation and use.
