Date/Time (ET):
May 9, 2011 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Led By:
National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention

In 2011, we will discuss cultural and linguistic competence in relation to mental health program development and service provision. This year, we will provide a three or four part series to address CLC issues. Our speaker for Part 2 of the series is Gwen Willis-Darpoh. She addresses the importance of addressing cultural issues in providing mental health service: various cultures in US society, cultural and linguistic competence, disparities, cultural barriers, biases, stereotypes, and incorporating CLC standards into mental health practice.
