Preventing youth suicide in rural America: Recommendations to states
This report to states presents recommendations that approach youth suicide prevention through the lens of America’s rural communities, so that both the strengths and limitations of rural settings can be taken into account to design and implement more effective prevention strategies. These recommendations were generated to offer states and local communities a resource that describes a rural perspective on prevention and early interventions. The report presents recommendations to state-level agencies in seven key areas: Promoting help-seeking behaviors, data and surveillance, services, screening and identification, gatekeeper training, bereavement, and survivor issues.
