A Day in the Life of American Adolescents

This report highlights the substance abuse behavior and addiction treatment activities that occur among adolescents on an average day. Facts about substance use and treatment are drawn from data from national surveys conducted and analyzed by SAMHSA’s Office of Applied Studies. Data are presented on first substance use, past year substance use, receipt of substance use treatment, and source of substance use treatment referrals.
