Project Summary : Project Summary - The Bergen County Community Partnership for Safe Schools/Healthy Students has a mission to bring together organizations, groups, and individuals to deal with adolescent risk behaviors and health issues, address social problems that have multi-faceted causes, and develop and implement collaborative interventions to improve the health and well being of Bergen County youth. Key grant activities and programs will include: an alternative school for disaffected youth that offers flexible hours, therapy, and job placement in the community; a Youth Resource Center modeled on "The Door" that will connect in and out-of-school youth to health services, employment support through the One Stop systems, GED preparation, and much more; Behavioral curricula such as Second Step and Microsocity, Multi-Systemic Therapies, medication monitoring, parent education, home visits, literacy labs, surveillance equipment, an alternative to out-of-school suspension, a theater program, mentoring by police, and more.
