Project Summary : Anaheim City School District (ACSD) serves over 22,000 children grades K-6 and operates on a year-round schedule. The district has experienced unprecedented growth, and the population of school-age children increased by 43%. An alarming 33% of ACSD students live in poverty. In conjunction with community organizations, ACSD formed the Children Learning at Safe Schools Partnership , and the initiative will utilize existing resources and create new programs to implement a school-wide anti-violence program, promote safer and drug-free schools, promote pro-social behavior, healthy student development, and positive mental health, and increase early intervention services for children ages 0-5.
