Breaking Schools' Rules: A Statewide Study of How School Discipline Relates to Students Success and Juvenile Justice Involvement

This report provides a starting point for other jurisdictions where officials want to improve their understanding of who is being suspended and expelled from school, and what those patterns mean for juvenile justice involvement and academic performance. In addition, this report may help stimulate or advance discussions that assist educators, and communities at large, to improve outcomes for youth who routinely misbehave or engage in serious misconduct in school.
