About the TA Center
The National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention's (National Center) overall goal is to provide technical assistance (TA) and training to school districts and communities that receive grants from the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The National Center offers an array of products and services that enable grantees to plan, implement, evaluate, and sustain activities that foster resilience, promote mental health, and prevent youth violence and mental and behavioral disorders.
Since 2002, the National Center has been a project of Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) and is housed in EDC's Health and Human Development Division, which seeks to foster healthy lifestyles and create healthy and safe environments where people live, learn, and work. We partner with the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD) to provide quality TA to our grantees.
