Neal Horen
Mr. Horen is a technical assistance specialist on the Project LAUNCH Technical Assistance Team. A clinical psychologist focusing on community-based work, he is co-director of training and technical assistance for the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development and associate director of the Early Childhood Team of the National Technical Assistance Center. In that capacity, Dr. Horen works closely with many states and communities to develop systems of care for young children and their families. He recently worked closely with a native health corporation serving 58 Yupik Eskimo villages in southwest Alaska to develop a system of care for children birth to five. He also works in direct clinical care where he develops social skills interventions for young children and provides reflective supervision of early childhood mental health clinicians; he also serves on several national committees, including the Early Childhood Curriculum Committee of the National Traumatic Stress Network grant program. He is director of the HOYA clinic, which offers therapeutic and assessment services for children and families. He has lectured extensively on infant mental health and the effect of trauma on child development. He has a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of South Florida.
