Jennifer Kitson
Ms. Kitson has been actively involved in leading school and community change to create improved outcomes for children, providing resources/training in mental health promotion and violence prevention, supporting models of prevention, youth development and comprehensive mental health. Currently serving as a Technical Assistance Specialist for the National Center, she links to other national TA centers serving mental health/behavioral health needs of children/youth, to provide resources, linkages, and training opportunities for grantees in rural communities. Ms. Kitson was the Project Coordinator of one of the original SS/HS initiatives, in Hays, Kansas. She served for many years as a school psychologist and in volunteer work at local, state, and national levels, building collaborations among groups, utilizing evidence-based practices, and implementing systems-level change to expand services and improve outcomes for children and families. With a background in school-based mental health, Ms. Kitson earned an M.S. and Ed.S., and is credentialed as a school psychologist.
