Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), tackles some of the world’s most urgent challenges in education, health, and international development.

For more than half a century, EDC has collaborated with public and private partners to design, deliver, and evaluate program innovations—from small seed projects to large-scale national and international initiatives.

Using a powerful combination of research, strategy, and training, EDC advances formal and informal education, health promotion and care, workforce preparation, communication technology, and civic engagement. EDC enjoys a worldwide reputation for its excellence in program and fiscal management and for the impact of its work.

EDC’s efforts in physical and mental health span promotion, prevention, early intervention, and care. With attention to underlying social and economic factors, EDC addresses such issues as violence and suicide; alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; HIV and AIDS; and environmental risks. EDC works in and across the sectors of education, health, and justice, creating programs for consumers, schools and universities, the juvenile justice system, workplaces, clinics, and community agencies.

The proven success of EDC’s work is fueled by the knowledge and experience of talented and dedicated staff, including teachers, health and social science professionals, mathematicians, professional development experts, scientists, researchers, and management and technology specialists.

EDC is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. Work is supported through grants and contracts from a variety of sources, including U.S. and foreign government agencies, private foundations, nonprofit organizations, universities, and corporations.
